Hello crafter's! How are you all?
I'm so excited to have joined the DRK makers team. I've used many of the DRK brands since I began crafting around 15 years ago.
Today I'm sharing with you my first project. Like many crafter's, I do love a pretty paper. However, I often struggle with knowing how to use pretty papers in my projects. Plus, I hate cutting into them. It inflicts all kinds of emotions in me! Hehe! (that's why I normally buy 2 of each paper pad 😉)
So, I'll talk you through what I did for this card.
First, I cut down a piece of the pretty paper from the 'Forever Free First Edition 6x6in paper pad' to the exact size of a UK A6 card face (10.5cm x 14.85cm). I adhered this to my white top fold card blank using wet adhesive.
Next, I repeatedly cut my 'honeycomb' die into some plain white card. I saved the 'waste' , in this case, the hexagons, for the next step. I adhered this in random locations over the patterned paper using wet adhesive. Where it went over any edges, I snipped it away.
Now, using the hexagons from the previous step, I went in and replaced some of the hollows using wet adhesive. There was no pattern here - I chose locations at random.
In this paper pad, there are some sentiment toppers. My final step was mounting one of these toppers from the same pad of paper, onto the centre of the card using foam tape.
This completes the card!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and feel inspired to use some of your pretty papers.
Until next time, take care.
Love, Dani xx
